This is a list of frequently asked questions about the Medirota system.
Medirota is a system for scheduling staff working in medical departments. It is primarily designed for clinical staff, but it can be used for other staff provided their activity is session based.
Medirota is an online application, so it can be accessed from any computer with an Internet link. Users with modern smart phones can access the rota using the free Medirota app, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Information on how to download and use the apps is available here.
Because Medirota is web-based and changes to the rota are made immediately, the system is always up-to-date.
Medirota incorporates leave booking, rota and oncall management facilities into a single application.
Medirota can provide detailed and overview reports of the activity recorded in the system.
Medirota is focussed on staff resourcing and is not intended to be used for patient scheduling or patient data.
Templates are our name for ‘job plans’, in other words the pattern of a person's normal activity.

Medirota can be configured to either count leave taken in days or in missed sessions.
A central premise of the Medirota system is that someone can't be in two places at once. The corollary to this is that people have to be in at least one place at a time. These locations show if someone is available to do work, or not to do work.
There is no special formatting facility built into Medirota because it is best viewed online. Printed rotas are typically out-of-date the moment they come out of the printer.
Medirota does not presently have a data export functions, although we would like to learn about your ideas for data export if you would like to share them with us. Please email your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is possible to copy and paste the output of reports into Excel.
