Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This is a list of frequently asked questions about the Medirota system.

Medirota is a system for scheduling staff working in medical departments. It is primarily designed for clinical staff, but it can be used for other staff provided their activity is session based.

What is special about Medirota?

Medirota is an online application, so it can be accessed from any computer with an Internet link. Users with modern smart phones can access the rota using the free Medirota app, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Information on how to download and use the apps is available here.

Because Medirota is web-based and changes to the rota are made immediately, the system is always up-to-date.

Does Medirota support patient lists?

Medirota is focussed on staff resourcing and is not intended to be used for patient scheduling or patient data.

What does templating mean?

Templates are our name for ‘job plans’, in other words the pattern of a person's normal activity.

For more information on templates, please see the help page on templating.

How does leave accounting work?

Medirota can be configured to either count leave taken in days or in missed sessions.

Why can't I remove the "Available" and "Blocked" activities?

A central premise of the Medirota system is that someone can't be in two places at once. The corollary to this is that people have to be in at least one place at a time. These locations show if someone is available to do work, or not to do work.

How can I print the rota?
